AJ Farley was born and raised in Chicago, where he is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting at DePaul University. AJ previously earned an Associate in Arts degree with high honors from Harold Washington College, where he also focused on accounting. He likes to stay current in the worlds of finance, law, and technology.
With ambitions to become a CPA attorney, AJ plans to take the CPA exam after completing his undergraduate degree in accounting at DePaul, during which time he has secured a full-time position as an Audit Associate at BDO, Anchorage Alaska. While working there, he will work to obtain his CPA and CFE, and hopes to enroll in an online Masters Program in Computer Science, before ultimately going to Law School. His long-term goal is to build a career in Forensic Accounting and MnA Advisory. He hopes to spend his retirment working alongside the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he will aim to uphold and enforce financial regulations to protect investors, and working with the ACLU, advocating for civil liberties.
AJ’s personal philosophy is grounded in a belief in truth, and the conviction that ultimately, the truth will prevail. He strives to align with this belief in all pursuits, knowing that facing the truth is inevitable for all. AJ also holds a strong sense of both personal liberty and responsibility for himself and others. In his free time, he enjoys learning to play the piano and playing chess.
